Discovered recipe in error when I thought I had made an apple crumble with chopped nuts! to find a savoury alternative that would go well with roast pork
4 large cooking apples, tsp sugar, pinch salt, 6ozs plain flour, 3 ozs marg or butter, good handful oats and a good handful of sage and onion stuffing
Stew apples until just soft add sugar and salt to taste
Make crumble mixture by lightly rubbing marg/butter into flour when like bread crumbs add oats and stuffing mix.
Cook in oven 35 mins until brown and crispy
An alternative way to serve would be to make crumble stuffing balls and force pureed apple sauce into the middle with syringe.
