Apple and plum crumble

great pud just out of the fridge with a dolop of fresh cream

Ingredients
2 large cooking apples
6 large plums
2 tbs brown sugar
pinch of cinammon
zest of 1 lemon

200gr flour
125gr butter
100gr brown sugar
75gr oats

Method
mix the sugar, flour and butter and make a crumbly mix, add oats and leave in the fridge
Heat oven at 200C

Peel and chop the fruit, I left the skins on the plums I like that rich pink colour in the juice.
Put in a pan with a bit of sugar, cinammon and lemon zest.
Cook on slow heat till the friut is soft.
Place in an oven dish and cover with the topping
cook for about 25 minutes or when you feel the top is brown enough for you.

Fantastic recipe, the best I've come across on the internet. It's delicious with single or double cream! I've saved this to my favourites. The oats give it that special something

just tried apple crumble in my new electric oven (I've been cooking with gas for the last 43 years)

the fat in the crumble just melted, & the topping just formed a gooey mess on the top of my pud. I had followed the instructions with my new cooker. How can I keep it crunchy?
