Awesome Applesauce

This recipe yields 2 cups of applesauce. I\'m not sure how long it will keep in the fridge because we\'ve always eaten it within a couple days. If anyone else has an idea, please leave a comment below. Check out www.ChooseRealFoods.org for this and other great REAL FOOD recipes!!!

Ingredients
4 cups peeled & sliced apples
1 cup water
2 tsp raw honey, to taste (depending how sweet your apples are)

Method
Place apples and water in a pan and simmer for about 20 minutes, until tender and smooshy. Then use a hand mixer to puree to desired consistency, adding more water if needed (surely a food processor would work well, but I haven\'t tried it). Now it\'s time to add the honey. I\'d taste the applesauce, first, as you may decide the honey isn\'t necessary. Add honey, if desired, and stir. Store in fridge and serve chilled. You can also sprinkle with cinnamon :)

Yes, I'd be inclined to add 4 or 5 tablespoons.

I'd like to make the apple sauce a bit spicy: would cayenne pepperdo the job?
