Banana cake

An easy cake recipe. The banana cake is great together with a cup of coffee or a glass of milk, and can also be served as dessert.

Ingredients
100 g butter
300 ml sugar
2 eggs
500 ml wheat flour
1 tsp bicarbonate
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp ground ginger
2 tsp cinnamon
50 ml milk
2 ripe bananas

Some extra butter to grease the tin
Breadcrumbs (dried)

Method
1. Grease a round baking tin with butter and breadcrumbs.

2. Mix the butter and the sugar in a bowl until it turns a bit \"fluffy\".

3. Add one egg at a time to the butter, and mix.

4. In another bowl, mix all the dry ingredients.

5. Add the dry ingredients to the butter-mixture.

6. Mash the bananas.

7. Add the bananas and the milk and mix good.

8. Pour the dough into the baking tin and put into the oven, 175 degrees, for about 1 hour.

Cake worked well, very tasty!

I doubled up on bananas and milk. Didnt bother with the breadcrumbs in tin. Melted the butter in oven as it was preheating, made mixing with sugar really simple. Mixed milk and bananas first, then added to dry mix, made things easier :)

Why grams and ml? I made some muffins from this recipe and nearly put 500 gr flour and 300 gr sugar in!

If you are making a cake then do it either by weight OR by volume, but not both! It is very confusing

Waiting for the result - I did actually put a bit too much flour in but put also some extra milk!

Hi Malcolm!
We use something in Sweden called "ströbröd", which is brown dried breadcrumbs, "mashed" into very small pieces. They are also used when you coat chicken, schnitzel or simular.

Surely this is "line it with butter and sugar", or something from the recipe, not bread crumbs?
