Chicken with tomato sauce and gruel

its an old traditional dish, that nowadays it is cooked only in small Greek villages(where tradition still having roots). It needs really authentic and natural ingredients. The more bio the ingredients are the better taste the dish will have.

Ingredients
4 serves
4 chicken legs(you can use any part you like)
1/2 cup of extra virgin olive oil
1 onion peeled and chopped
1 clove of garlic
2 green peppers/chopped
1 red pepper /chopped
thyme ,salt ,pepper
sugar(1/2 tea sp)
1 glass of white wine
150 grms gruel(wheat product)
3 tomatoes ,chopped

Method
Wash the chicken legs and remove the skin.(no need to eat extra fats)
In a wide pan put the onion, the peppers and the garlic and saute them with the portion iv given you , of the extra virgin olive oil . Set the fire in medium to high level.
Add the chicken legs and let them cooked for 5 minutes . Turn them from both sides to be cooked uniformly, and add sugar, salt and pepper. Mix all the ingredients that now being cooked in the pan, well .
Add the wine when the chicken legs colour turned gold, and let the wine absorbed.It is known that wine is giving its flavor to foods. The alcohol part of the wine is evaporated.
To continue with our food, we then may add, the tomatoes and the thyme.After 5 minutes add 2 glasses of water and then set the fire in the low level mode.Cook for at least 30 minutes. After this time period the food will remain with a tomato thick sauce. Now its time to add the gruel.
To cook the gruel, remember that you must add for every glass of gruel, 2 glasses of water. Add the gruel and the appropriate portion of water. Add salt if the food needs to, and cook till the food absorb the water you have added.
Serve it in a wide big dish and decorate with grinds of Parmesan and basil leafs ........

Just so you know, and for anyone else, 'gruel' is actually bulgur wheat.
