  • 2 cups Aunt Jemima Corn bread mix
  • 2 cups vegetable oil for deep frying
  • 1 pound (460 grams) of shrimp
  • 3 tablespoons Baron's Passion Fruit Sauce (Available through Cuban Cuisine UK)
  • 2 tablespoons Panela Nativo (Available through Cuban Cuisine UK)
  • 1 teaspoon Tropical Sun Scotch Bonnet Pepper Sauce (for extra heat) (Available through Cuban Cuisine UK)
Prepare Cornbread mix

Wash and devein shrimp, but leaving tails on.

Heat deep fryer

Dip shrimp individually into thick cornbread batter and deep fry immediately.

Cook until golden brown.

In small saucepan, heat up panela native with 1 tablespoon water, stirring constantly until it starts to melt. stir in the passion fruit sauce and habanero sauce. Serve hot in dipping bowl....
