if it is 33C of heat and cooking feels like a death penalty, make okroshka. you can bake the bread in the outdoor oven...
4 small cucumbers
8 small tomatoes
a handful of fresh dill
a handful of fresh dark basil
6 garlic flowers (seeds)
6 stalks of green onion
1/4 tsp salt, pepper
1/8 of a fresh chilli (well, mine is extremely strong, if yours is sweeter, put more)
1 tbsp raw cane sugar
a handful or two of red currants or 2 sour apples
1/2 tbsp pumpkin seed oil
1 1/2 liters sourmilk (kefir)
+ dark rye bread for the side
I am going to put it very simply for all the heat-cooked brains out there: just chop everything, except red currants, and throw it together, add seasoning and sourmilk, let the okroshka stand for 5-6 minutes and eat cold with some of my delicious home-made bread.....oh oops, I already ate all of that.
if you want a stronger garlic taste, chop the garlic flowers really fine, if not as strong, leave some intact. it looks prettier too. also, chilies can vary greatly, taste them before.
