This salad was such a wonderful starter for one of our summer cookouts with friends. I did two of these plates and placed them in the middle of the table and let everyone tuck in. Big Hit! I am also an inspiring photographer and love to take food inspired photos!
Ingredients
Spicy Capicola Ham
Pears
Fresh Mozzarella
White Balsamic Vinegar
Good Olive Oil
Sea Salt
Fresh Cracked Pepper
Mixed Greens
Lemon
Method
Slice and core out the pears, brush with olive oil. Place on the grill and just let them caramelize and get those wonderful grill marks. Take off and let cool. Plate the spicy capicola ham around on the plate. Add the grilled pears in the middle of the plate on top of the ham. In a bowl squeeze half a lemon, add equal amount white balsamic vinegar. Add salt and pepper then whisk in 3 times as much olive oil to make your dressing. Add your greens to the bowl and toss about to coat. Grab a big handful of greens and top the pears on the plate. Tear fresh mozzarella over top of the greens and drizzle with a little more olive oil. Enjoy!
