sage, pepper, salt
italian red wine
frozen green veg and cualiflower
cream cheese, cheddar cheese, parmesan
butter 1 tbsp
pastry puff and 1 egg
O.k., So I wanted to make Jamie's Guinness Meat Pie, but i had nothing that resembled the key ingredients -aside from the sage,pastry puff and a few other things. ....What I did have was a fridge full of food that really needed to go into a stew or something, or very soon it would all be tossed in the composte... So this is what I made.... It's great as an appetizer or side dish. And what great fun to make --Thanks Jamie!
Finely grate Italian sausage
Toss in hot pan
Then toss in fine chopped onions and caramelize.
Put in all the spices and herbs and mung beans.
Add the red wine
Grate the frozen veggies and toss into the mix.
Add the butter, cream cheese (1 tbsp), the cheddar (2 lrg hand full) and Parmesan approx. 1/2 cup
Reduce, reduce, reduce until the mix is a pasty-mushy-thick-pudding.
Dump all into a baking dish and top it up with pastry puff -glaze with egg.
