Ingredients
1 cup caster sugar
1/2 cup water
juice of 4 lemons
soda water
ice
bendy straws
Method
My daughter got a bee in her bonnet recently about making REAL lemonade.
Herself, from scratch... she is so a minnie me.
She asked if I could help her search for a recipe online, then asked for some money to go buy the ingredients (she often walks to the local shops with her Dad or Aunty)
We decided on this recipe as it is very simple.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Simmer sugar & water for 5 minutes, until you have simple syrup then allow to cool.
Squeeze your lemons. We ended up with aprox 200ml of juice from 4 lemons.
Mix the juice with the syrup.
Put some ice into a glass, add 3 tbls of lemon syrup, top up with soda water.
And of course you need to add a bendy sraw, lemonade just isnt lemonade without a bendy straw.
Store extra syrup in a screw top jar in the fridge for 3 days
