Scandinavian Soda Bread

www.naturalactivities.com

Ingredients
2dl rye flour
3dl wholemeal flour
1/2dl oats
2tsp bicarbonate of soda
1tsp salt
1tsp ground cumin
1tsp ground fennel seeds
4dl greek yoghurt
1tsp honey

Method
Preheat the oven to 175ºC/350ºF and line the bottom of a medium sized non-stick bread tin and set aside.

Combine all dry ingredients in a medium sized bowl. Add yoghurt and honey and mix well with a wooden spoon until you have a somewhat thick sticky dough. Transfer to the bread tin and press out the dough towards the edges with the help of the wooden spoon or wet fingertips.

Bake in the oven for 30min. Check the bread after 20min. If a stick comes out reasonably dry, turn off the oven and leave the bread in there until the whole half hour has passed.

We only use ml, dl and liters in Sweden, and someone here wrote that 4 dl = 4 liters. This is not correct.

10 dl = 1 liters.
1000 ml = 1 liter.

(4 dl = 400 ml)

Thank you for the equivalence of the dl.

Sounds like a good recipe. However, while I trained to be a chef many years ago, i seem to have got left behind. I understand lb, oz, k, kg, have even been exposed to American cups but please, what exactly is a dl??
