Subway Style Italian Meatballs with Mozzarella

Ingredients
MEATBALLS (MAKES 10):

500g minced beef and pork ,half and half,
5 tbsp dried breadcrumbs,
1 med• egg,
1 medium onion (finely chopped),
2 cloves garlic (crushed), 2tsps dried italian herbs.
1 tsp onion powder•
Salt and pepper.

TOMATO SAUCE:

2 tins of tomatoes(chopped),
1 onion (chopped),
1 clove garlic (crushed)
2tbsp tomato puree•
2 tbsp olive oil,
Some chilli powder

You'll also need bread rolls (or soft hot dog rolls) and mozzarella cheese (2 packets ) or use another cheese if you prefer.

Method
If, like me, your tired of eating meatballs with spaghetti try this recipe for a change. It tastes 10 times better than the original 'subway' and your kids will love you for it :)

1. First make the meatballs.Mix meat with all of the other ingreadients and make into 10 meatballs. Place them on a baking tray and bake in the oven for approx.30mins at 180°c and drain off any fat.

2.Whilst the meatballs are cooking make your sauce. Heat up the olive oil in a large frying pan and gently fry the garlic and onion till softened. Then add the tomato puree and continue cooking for a couple of minutes. Add the tinned tomatoes, the herbs and the chilli powder. Let the sauce cook gently for about 30 mins stirring occasionally.

3. When the meatballs are done, throw them into the tomato sauce and let them cook for a further 10-15 mins.

4. When you're ready to serve, slice open the rolls and fill each roll with 2 meatballs (sliced in half) and some of the sauce. Top with mozzarella and pop them into the still warm oven for a couple of minutes to melt the cheese.

I know how many grams there are to a pound, but can someone please tell me how many ounces there are to "2 tins of tomatoes(chopped)". Jamie may have smoked a little before he wrote this recipe.
