Ingredients

Ingredients
Method

  • 1 can of chickpeas
  • 2 tbsp tahini
  • 1/2 clove garlic
  • 2+ tbsp olive oil
  • salt n pepper
  • lemon juice
Drain most, but not all of the liquid off the chickpeas.
Then tip them all plus the other ingredients into your blender.
Depending on how fresh/strong your garlic is you might not even need as much as half a clove. It isn't cooked so it tastes pretty strong.
Whizz it all up. You're aiming for a uniform consistency - but not a complete paste, flecks of chickpea (and black pepper) will be noticeable.

Now taste. You probably need a bit more salt and or lemon juice. Another quick whizz and you're ready to eat.

If you remembered to soak the chickpeas and have the time to watch 'em boil then I'm sure you will get a better result. This is the lazy man's version...
