Whenever I have apples left over I am cooking apple puree or this filling. It just takes some time to cut the apples in tiny cubes. You could grate the apples, too, that depends on how you want the filling to look like in the end.
I am freezing the filling in portions, so in case we want a quick sweet treat I just have to defrost it in the microwave. Perfect when you don´t want to spend much time in the kitchen.
The filling is finished when the apples just got soft.
Remove the vanilla pods and let it cool off.
