lentil soup

A very common soup (especially in winter) in Greece

Ingredients
4 serves
1 1/2 cup of tea lentils
1 onion
3 cloves of garlic
3 leaves of laurel
1/2 tea sp oregano
1 tea sp salt
2 table spoons tomato sauce
1/2 glass olive oil

Method
Wash lentils and boil them for 5 minutes. Throw the water and strain the lentils.Add fresh water the chopped onion,the garlic and all the other ingredients except the olive oil.
Boil the soup for 40 minutes in slow fire and the last 5 minutes add the olive oil. After this the sop is ready to be served.

i like the idea of the soup but i was hoping it would be a little more interesting than this!

does the recipe mean L.Nobilis (Bay) leaves where it says Laurel?
I just wondered so I tried laurel instead.
