Fifteen's Class of 2006 Apprentice Luke Robinson opened, as executive chef, the Bonnie Gull Seafood Shack back in October 2012 and was recently a runner up for Tatler's 2013 Best Newcomer in the Restaurant Awards.

Bonnie Gull Seafood Shack is a British Seafood restaurant where the chefs hope to create a nostalgic journey to a seaside holiday for the diners of London.  The restaurant makes sure it uses only the best in British produce and the ingredients are a showcase of what the country has to offer.  When asked what makes Bonnie Gull Seafood Shack different to other restaurants in central London, Luke mentioned that the diner is able to experience very high quality products at a very accessible price point, as well as very few Central London restaurants offering only British seafood on their menus.  Being very proud of the UK supplies used in their menu, Luke is focused on adding to a list of great suppliers and producers introduced during his time at fifteen.

Speaking to Luke, he said: “We are all very proud of the achievements at Bonnie Gull keeping things simple seasonal and sourcing the highest quality seafood available in the UK! I actually employ two other Fifteen graduates, Gavin Gordon (sous chef) and Jai Harrower (Cdp).  We are currently looking for a second site, although the focus is to be a small high quality group of restaurants no more than three.”

Luke Robinson is just one of our successful stories of those who have graduated from the Fifteen Apprentice Programme and it's great to hear that his career as a chef is moving onwards and upwards.
