More musical and children’s entertainment delights added to the menu for Jamie Oliver presents The Big Feastival with Alex James

As the festival proudly announces its new partnership with Electrolux, the global leader in household and professional appliances, The Big Feastival today announces further line up news

A showcase of tantalising food and music for all the family, Jamie Oliver presents The Big Feastival with Alex James will take place September 1st and 2nd on Alex’s farm in Kingham, Oxfordshire. Gastronomical delights will be devoured by music-loving foodies set to a perfect summer festival sound-track of great bands, all in aid of The Jamie Oliver Foundation.

The music menu grows as Lucy Rose, Karima Francis, Josh Osho, Sweet Lights, The Chevin and The TG Collective are all added to the Main Stage line-up. Taking to the stage on Saturday will be Lucy Rose who has recently toured with Bombay Bicycle Club and Noah and the Whale and Sweet Lights who will be playing songs from his forthcoming self-titled album, dubbed his most personal to date. On Sunday the haunting female singer Karima Francis performs songs from her latest album ‘The Remedy’ and Josh Osho, the singer/songwriter from South London who has worked with Ghostface Killah, Rizzle Kicks and Emeli Sandé, will wow the crowds. The Chevin, a rock four-piece band from Otley in Yorkshire who have toured with Franz Ferdinand, and The TG Collective, who’s 2005 debut album ‘Who Ate All The Tapas?’ landed a spot in The Sunday Times’ Records of the Year, complete the bill.

Family entertainment comes in all shapes and sizes at this year’s festival. New event partner Electrolux will be giving families the chance to get their hands dirty with cake and cookie decorating in the ultimate kid’s cook school, the Electrolux Mobile Academy.

The highly-rated by parents, and much-loved by kids, Sharky & George bring their unique activities for kids of all ages to The Big Feastival in conjunction with Eager Drinks. Parents can expect lots of energetic, imaginative activities based on good, old fashioned, honest fun to wear out the little ones ahead of their nights under the stars in the camping fields.

Slow Food Kids aims to bring the sensations of tasting, sniffing and feeling to life with their Slow Food Kids’ Taste Adventure aimed at four to 10 year olds. Encouraging children to think about food by taking them on a journey through five interactive zones, young Taste Adventurers are given a cartoon passport to complete and are invited to collect stamps as they explore, interact and make new food discoveries.

Plus The Chipping Norton Theatre, described by The Daily Mail as “so charming it almost hurts” will be running workshops throughout the weekend alongside a wide range of interactive music and circus sessions including Giggles Facepainting, Jaffe & Neale Storytelling, The Fairground and, for the mums, Mary Kay Makeovers.

Celebrating three of the things closest to both Jamie and Alex’s hearts – food, music and family – in order to raise funds and awareness for The Jamie Oliver Foundation, The Big Feastival promises to be a boutique festival experience in a picturesque English countryside location just 90 mins from London. Two days of tasty grub, awesome music performances, a chilled out vibe and general all-round, family-friendly, fantastic entertainment.

As Jamie says: “When you get great food, great music and the kids are kept busy, beautiful things definitely happen”.

Good food, good music and good times for the whole family
