Jamie has been on the lookout for new musical talent to join him at The Big Feastival to play in front of crowds of up to 15,000 food and music fans.
Jamie’s Summer Jam, sponsored by the very kind chaps at Birra Moretti, was launched as an antidote to X-Factor and The Voice with only original material being accepted.
Jamie received more than 800 entries, which is unbelievable, and the quality was at times breathtaking.
After endless deliberation, tears, tantrums and beers, the judges have come up with their shortlist, the bands have now been invited to come to London for the final on July 7th.
So in no particular order the finalists are:
Fickle Friends – These guys have created a beautifully bright sound. Sweet with a gritty edge and a really modern riff. Their individual talents are obvious but together they have really hit it off.
Brightlight City – A completely familiar sound, but done with the support of a really brilliant bit of songwriting. “Feels Like” is instantly likeable with great energy, good hooks and good looks.
The Dirty Perks – We loved the mod-rock thing going on with these guys. Slightly gnarly but still with a massive sense of fun and tongue-in-cheek. “Oh, Oh, Oh” Could be a massive a show-starter.
Jamie said: “This was the best yet, amazing quality and very exciting new music. It was almost impossible to get it down to three tracks. I look forward massively to seeing the three play live…good luck and keep your eye out for the video vote in a few weeks. Also can I just add a very special thank you to Birra Moretti for their support, great stuff, cheers. See you at The Big Feastival.”
