Ben Faulks (a.k.a Mr Bloom)

Mr BloomBen Faulks grew up in Cornwall before heading north to train at Bretton Hall School of Dance & Drama. After graduating in 2001 in theatre acting, he moved to Manchester to set out as an Actor & Writer. Manchester was the perfect place to get started and no doubt instrumental in the development of his work.

Early projects included a leftfield trilogy of one-man shows performed under the name of Jonathan Pram that played at the Royal Exchange Theatre, Contact Theatre, Green Room and beyond. Then, with the help of the MCR based organisation X-Trax, Ben established Plunge Boom, a Street Theatre Company producing interactive theatre shows such as the Troll Kitchen & the Vegetable Nannies. This then lead onto the pitching, development and subsequent commissioning of Mr Blooms Nursery for CBeebies, which in turn was the first children’s show out of the BBC after the relocation to Media City, Salford Quays.
