The Kitchen Garden

The Kitchen Garden in association with Daylesford Organic Farm is the place to come for a taste of the good life, with contribution from Jamie Oliver Kitchen Garden Project, Garden Organic and The Oxfordshire Gardener.

Garden Organic will be on hand to show you everything you need to know about composting, whilst Oxfordshire Gardener will show you how to grow your own kitchen garden – no matter how much (or little) space you have.

There’ll be the opportunity to discover the world of hen-keeping, and you can even press your own apple juice and cider. Take part in Q&As and learn how to make the most of your own kitchen garden. Benefit from expert advice and really explore where your food comes from and how to create your own kitchen garden.

The Jamie Oliver Kitchen Garden Project
The Kitchen Garden Project approach – best described by Stephanie Alexander as “real scrape-the-bowl, dirt-under-the-fingernails learning” – aims to reinstate the importance of food education through an integrated curriculum approach. The long-term vision is to give kids the knowledge and skills they need to make better food choices for themselves in adulthood, and to provide schools with an engaging, practical tool through which children can learn core curriculum subjects. Like many education specialists, we believe children learn better through doing. As Jamie says: “It’s about setting kids up for life.”

Daylesford Organic Farm
All their food comes straight from their farms:  meat and poultry, fruit and veg from their market garden, bread from their bakery, and cheese, milk and yoghurt from their creamery. To make their soups and meals, their chefs use only the freshest ingredients, combined with simple techniques to bring out the natural flavours of our seasonal, organic produce.
