The Menu

For the first time ever, the UK’s best restaurants and bars will be offering a shared menu from The Big Feastival pop-up kitchens. So you can choose whether to have a starter from Trinity, or a main course at Locanda Locatelli!

Abeno

‘Soto’ Abeno is the outside catering arm of Abeno and Abeno Too, the UKʼs only specialist Okonomi-yaki Restaurants. The business is the brainchild of Elize Nakatani, who hails from the city of Osaka, the culinary hot-pot of Japan. Since 1993, Elize has striven to recreate an authentic Okonomi-yaki experience in London, developing critically-acclaimed menus based on the traditional flavours and recipes of her home region.

Main: Okonomi-yaki (Japanese savoury pancake) with Organic Chicken, Organic Cheese, English Asparagus and Konnyaku / Vegetarian Okonomi-yaki

Albannach

Founded in 2005, Albannach Restaurant and Whisky Bar is situated overlooking Trafalgar Square in the heart of London and holds the largest whisky collection outside of Scotland. Albannach comprises a mezzanine and ground floor restaurant, a private dining room, and a late night, underground cocktail bar, the A Lounge.

Main: Mini Haggis with Neeps and Tatties

Awana

Fine-dining Malaysian restaurant Awana serves up the most exciting and vibrant cuisine to come out of Asia. Its eclectic menu combines traditional dishes with a modern twist. Located in London’s fashionable Chelsea, Awana is renowned for its tasty satay dishes, rotis and delicious cocktails.

Starter: Corn-fed chicken satay with roti / tofu satay with roti (v)

Barbecoa

With Barbecoa, Jamie Oliver and Adam Perry Lang have drawn on traditional cooking techniques from around the world to create a celebration of the relationship between fire and food. This combined with spectacular views of St Paul’s cathedral makes Barbecoa something very special in the heart of London.

Main: Pit Smoked Barbecue Pulled Pork Shoulder and Slaw

Benares

Creativity and diversity are the essence at Michelin-starred Benares, where chef Atul Kochhar blends traditional spices and flavour combinations with modern day science and contemporary Indian style.

Main: Chicken Tikka Pie

Cafe Spice Namaste

Cyrus and Pervin Todiwala are thrilled to offer feastival-goers a slice of Café Spice Namaste, their landmark Indian restaurant inspired by their Parsee heritage and renowned the world over for its unique cuisine melding exotic flavours and spices to create extraordinary twists on traditional dishes. Winner of the 2011 Sustainable Food Award.

Main: Organic Rhug Welsh Mutton Kofta with Rice

Canteen

Canteen took the London restaurant scene by storm in 2005. Here was a restaurant championing proper British food – Devilled Kidneys on Toast, Potted Duck, Pork Pies, and Treacle Tart – with passion and pride. Their no nonsense, modern meets classic menu has brought good British cooking to the high street once more.

Cinnamon Kitchen

At Cinnamon Kitchen, executive chef Vivek Singh pushes culinary boundaries with his imaginative approach to modern Indian cuisine. Set, rather fittingly, in the historic East India Company spice warehouse, the restaurant is home to the capital’s first tandoor bar and grill.

Pudding: Mango Mousse with Mango Mint Salad

Fifteen

Since 2002, Jamie Oliver’s Hoxton restaurant Fifteen continues to run its pioneering Apprentice Programme for young people in need of a break while serving fresh seasonal menus of gorgeous Italian-inspired food.

Main: Porchetta Mufuletta -The apprentices homemade foccacia with slow roasted Dalgarnock pork ‘Italian style’, crisp fennel and leaf salad

Fouronine

A classic neighbourhood restaurant with Chef Nick Carter serving modern European food with flair and interest to a back-drop of soft candle light and friendly professional service. fouronine has set the bar high and become somewhat of a South West London institution. The sixty seater restaurant is perfect for romantic dinners for two or larger group celebrations and the fully private dining room gives more of a personal touch to any event from special occasions to a catch up with friends over good food and wine.

Main: Pomegranate roasted duck breast with bulgur wheat and almond herbed salad, apricot and mint jam / Ironside English tomato, olive and Sardinian pasta salad with Innes log goat’s cheese, chives and beetroot

Franklins

Set up in East Dulwich in 1999 Franklins is dedicated to procuring top quality local, seasonal ingredients and cooking them simply. In 2008 we opened Franklins Farm Shop next door to sell the local produce used in the restaurant along with ready meals, English cheeses and wines from the restaurant list at off license prices.

Dish: Rabbit, Bacon and Beer

GBK

Burgers to make your mouth water. That’s what GBK is all about. The highest quality meats, freshest home-made sauces and artisan buns make our cooked-to-order burgers a beauty to behold. So grab the kids, get Grandma, invite the veggie lovers and meat aficionados, because GBK’s handcrafted menu will satisfy all.

Main: GBK West Country 4oz Beef Burger / Portobello Mushroom Stack Burger (both served in a sesame sourdough bun with a choice of sauces)

Locanda Locatelli

In a few short years, Giorgio and Plaxy Locatelli’s restaurant has become a London landmark. Since February 2002, they’ve sported a Michelin star in recognition of their exquisite Italian dishes.

Main: Piadina (with Parma ham, Squacquerone cheese and rocket) / Vegetarian Piadina

Lily's

We are a new local neighbourhood restaurant in the heart of Clapham Old Town (above The Frog). Our menu centres around the grill, utilising the finest meat, fish and seafood. Seating 50 diners including a private dining room for up to 16, lily’s is ideal for breakfast meetings, comfy enough for lunch, and swanky enough for dinner. On a sunny day, feel free to eat on our terrace, enjoy a cocktail or three and take in the sights of Clapham Common.

Starter: House smoked fish with horseradish creme fraiche and sourdough

Mango Tree

Located in the heart of Belgravia, award-winning Mango Tree is a sleek, spacious and stylish restaurant that serves authentic Thai cuisine. The menu is an exotic combination of four of the main culinary regions of Asia: rich and mild dishes from the North, spicy food from the East, mild cuisines influenced by Chinese cooking of the central region, and hot and spicy delicacies from the South.

The Providores

Award-winning restaurant meets all-day wine bar/cafe: Peter Gordon and Michael McGrath’s The Providores brings the finest in fusion food to London’s Marylebone Village.

Main: NZ Lamb Sam: grilled ciabatta / sourdough filled with roast spiced New Zealand lamb, minted yoghurt, tomato tamarind gooseberry chutney and salad

Redhook

Specialising in seafood, steaks and oysters, Redhook brings surf and turf heaven to Farringdon, not to mention the killer cocktails you’d expect from the owners of Milk & Honey.

Starter: Popcorn Shrimp

Trinity

Opened in 2006 by Adam Byatt, Trinity offers fine,  seasonal dining to its local Clapham Old Town neighbourhood. With both a regularly changing à la carte and tasting menu, diners can enjoy both informal yet sophisticated lunches and long dinners in the elegantly designed restaurant.

Starter: Scotch Clarence Court Egg with Sage & Onion served with Cider Mayonnaise

Vinoteca

Situated on St John Street in Farringdon, Vinoteca opened in September 2005 and is recognised as one of London’s best wine bars. Chef John Murray heads a small team in the open kitchen, serving a concise daily-changing seasonal menu championing British and European cuisine. Vinoteca’s second wine bar, near Marble Arch, opened its doors last year.

Pudding: Dark Chocolate Cremoso with Fresh English Raspberries, Coconut & Toasted Almonds

Wahaca

Thomasina Miers brings the vibrant food of Central America to the UK with her award-winning restaurant group, Wahaca, inspired by her experience of Mexico’s fantastic food markets and street stalls.

Main: Pork Pibil Tacos / Summer Vegetable Tacos
