Jamie's Food Revolution follows Jamie over the course of winter 2009, when he travelled to America to raise awareness of the growing obesity crisis and aimed to get people cooking and eating good food again.

Jamie's mission was to start a chain reaction of positive change across the country. He says: "The time is right for people to rediscover the sense of pride, satisfaction and fun you can get from cooking for the people you love. There's an incredible community in Huntington, and I want this experience to be a celebration of what we can achieve when people come together. I want to prove that turning around the epidemic of obesity and bad health doesn't have to be boring or dull in the slightest. Wonderful stories will unfold in Huntington, and hopefully this will inspire the rest of the United States."

Based in Huntington, West Virginia – the town once labelled the fattest in the United States – Jamie goes straight to the heart of the problem and looks at the challenges facing people in their homes, workplaces, schools and supermarkets.

Using all the knowledge he gained during the course of his School Dinners and Ministry of Food campaigns here in the UK, Jamie sets to work and faces some of his harshest critics yet. But amongst the naysayers and skeptics are some truly passionate and enthusiastic supporters. Will they be enough to help Jamie launch the town's Food Centre and change the menu at the local schools? Watch the series to see how he gets on.
