On behalf of The Good Guys and Jamie’s Ministry of Food Australia, on Saturday the 3rd of March Jamie Oliver will host an intimate cooking class at the very first Australian Ministry of Food centre, located in Ipswich, Queensland.

The cooking class is set to play host to 20 participants; a group to be made up of local identities, competition winners and lucky audience members to be selected from the crowd on the day. The general public will have the opportunity to secure themselves a ticket to watch the exclusive cooking class and also go in the running to be involved in a once in a lifetime opportunity - to cook live with Jamie Oliver.

Tickets to the community event are free and available only to the first 500 punters who visit The Good Guys website and register. Tickets will be available 9am Thursday, 23rd of February, local Brisbane time. To secure tickets visit www.thegoodguys.com.au. Tickets are limited and are only available in advance.

To learn more about how you can win a spot to cook with Jamie, visit Jamie’s Ministry of Food Australia Facebook page. Ipswich Mayor Paul Pisasale said it was tremendous that Jamie Oliver would honour Ipswich by visiting his first Ministry of Food in Australia. “Jamie’s crusade and dedication to encourage people to get back to basics in the kitchen has been rewarded by the strong support shown by residents eager to learn how to enjoy nutritious food.

“The program is helping to keep alive cooking skills and healthy eating habits” Mr Mayor said Mark Timms, Proprietor of The Good Guys Ipswich, is proud to have supported the program since its inception in Australia in 2010. “This is an exciting and special event that will help raise awareness of the good work that Ministry of Food is doing in our local community. The Good Guys share Jamie’s vision for fostering healthy habits and would like to welcome him to Australia.” Said Mr Timms.

Jamie’s Ministry of Food Ipswich opened its doors in April 2011 and since then has played house to hundreds of participants learning to cook nutritious meals using fresh ingredients. Jamie’s Ministry of Food Australia aims to boost Australia’s cooking skills inspiring people to get back to basics. By boosting cooking skills, Jamie’s Ministry of Food believes we will be able to take control of our health and our lives.
