Roast Lamb Shoulder!

I also charged off to Sainsburys this morning after seeing the repeat of the programme last night. There is now a fantastic aroma filling my street! I also could only get half a shoulder so I am going to give it three hours and then have a look see. yummy

Indeed - just done it myself!  The butcher said he'd lost count of how many lamb shoulder cuts he'd sold this week lol

We also had the roast shoulder of lamb, or should I say, half shoulder of lamb and it was delicious - definitely will do again! thumbsup  clap

Re: Roast Lamb Shoulder!

hi all - Yep, I'm another person that's only here because of the lamb shoulder episode! smile

I'm not that confident a cooker(!), and there's only two of us, so a whole 6kg shoulder would be too much, so I was going to get a half... only I don't know how long it should go on for...

Peeps: you said you put yours on for 3 hours. Did that turn out OK? Or was it too much?

In more general terms, with this sort of thing, would half an hour either way make a difference? Am I needlessly worrying? Does it show that I tend to 'cook by numbers' most of the time!! smile

Thanks for any advice.

-tom (still learning)

OK Guys

I saw the episode a few weeks ago, ordered a side of lamb including an uncut shoulder, and now I can't remember the recipe. Can anyone guide me to it? I have an anxious group waiting to try it! help

Re: Roast Lamb Shoulder!

Thanks very much Tanya. This will make a perfect Australia Day (Jan 26) dinner (except I'll cook it in the BBQ as it's too hot to be in the kitchen with the oven on!) yummy
