Celebrating our Soil Association Award

Celebrating our Soil Association Award

This is the third time we’ve topped the Soil Association’s “Out to Lunch” league table with our children’s menu at Jamie’s Italian – and we’re absolutely chuffed. The Soil Association is a charity campaigning for healthy and sustainable food, working to transform our relationship with the natural world. It aims to ensure that good food is the easy choice for everyone, whoever and wherever they are.

Throughout the summer the Soil Association’s army of secret diners rated the food and service that families receive in 25 of the top high street restaurant chains across the UK. The Out to Lunch team further assessed the provenance, welfare and nutritional standards of the food on offer to young diners. Despite tough competition, our kids’ menu came out on top!

This award means a lot to us because we put so much effort into making our kids’ food healthy, balanced and delicious. All our children’s meals contain at least two portions of their five-a-day, and absolutely nothing artificial. We only use organic meat and dairy, as well as super fresh fruit and veg. Plus we have unlimited fruity water on offer as a refreshing alternative to sugary soft drinks. We’ve also been working hard to limit the amount of salt and sugar in our kids meals and have reduced the sugar content in our Epic brownie by 33% since 2015.

We know our children's menu is working – kids love it, parents love it, we love it, and it's fantastic that the Soil Association has recognised this with three consecutive awards.
