Story by Chloe Smee

July 9th was one of the hottest days of the year so far, a searing 30°C, but that didn’t stop 49 Jamie at Home Consultants making their way to the Essex countryside for an afternoon of Pimm’s & pizza at Jamie’s family house. Jamie welcomed us to his lovely home as a way of showing his personal appreciation and thanks to top Jamie at Home Consultants from around the UK and Ireland, who make Jamie at Home the thriving business that it is today.

Jamie at Home was launched in March 2009, to sell the gorgeous Jme collection. Direct-sales has proven the perfect format, combining Jamie’s love of beautiful products, inspiring people to get cooking and bringing people together in the home. Thousands of people have since joined Jamie at Home from all walks of life, whether looking to earn an additional income to support an existing job, or wanting to embark on a new career working in partnership with Jamie himself. Since March last year the business has gone from strength to strength, providing a welcome opportunity for 3,000 plus self-employed Consultants who earn an income through selling the exclusive range of Jme products for the home and garden. Jamie invited nearly 50 Consultants to his home for what ensued to be a truly memorable afternoon. He chatted to guests as they enjoyed Pimm’s in the garden before sitting down to delicious fresh pizza prepared by the chefs from Fifteen London (the restaurant that Jamie established that gives disadvantaged youth the chance to become top Chefs).

Consultants travelled from far and wide to make this special event, from the Scottish highlands to southern Ireland. Among this group of VIPs were two very special guests from Yorkshire; Claire Jennison and Vicky Swales. The pair from Bradford won their exclusive invitation through a special Jamie at Home customer competition held in March. It was the first time either of the girls had been to a Jamie at Home party. They qualified during the first Jamie at Home party either women had ever attended. Claire bought her mum a Mother’s Day gift from the Scent & Savour range and in doing so was entered into the competition, then drawn at random to win herself and her Host Vicky an invitation to Pimm’s & Pizza.

Both girls were over the moon when they found out they had won the chance to meet the man himself. “It was an amazing experience, we really enjoyed the whole day” said Claire. “It was great to meet Jamie and everyone from Jamie at Home was really friendly and welcoming, wish we could go again next year!” Winner Claire and Host of the party, Vicky, enjoyed a memorable day, in beautiful sunny surroundings with top notch food and hospitality. “Our day was fabulous from start to finish. It certainly was an amazing experience and one I will never forget!” Vicky explains.
