Health & Vitality Honours
On 25 January, the Health & Vitality Honours were held at the In & Out Club in London. This annual event is a platform for food businesses to showcase best practice and help create greater transparency on the social issues of health and nutrition. The scheme is designed to recognise excellence in these areas and aims to promote the manufacture of healthier products, the implementation of healthy living programmes and wider awareness of the industry’s work and achievements among consumers.
Jamie’s Italian was awarded the Healthy Hospitality Honours, acknowledging that nutrition is at the heart of our menus. Here’s what the judges had to say:
“It is great to see a restaurant catering more for children and setting nutritional criteria specifically for children.”
“Encouraging children to eat fruit and vegetables is often challenging but this initiative whereby all items on the menu have two portions of five a day is highly encouraging and commendable.”
“Brilliant that the chefs and managers receive nutrition training. This is an inspiring initiative, with credible nutrition based guidelines behind tasty meals. Love that every option is a healthy option so they will have impact. Great to see consideration of different lifestyle choices and the availability of two sizes – something often missed.”
This award means a lot to us because we put so much effort into creating tasty dishes for kids that are as healthy as they can be. We have always been committed to making it easier for families to eat well and it’s great to see this being acknowledged by the Health & Vitality Honours.
