2025 Food For Fitness Award with Joe Wicks Clare Robinson, St John the Baptist Primary School, Lincolnshire

One visit to St John the Baptist Primary School and you’ll be swept up by the vibrant, active and joyful community! Headteacher Clare really has made sure good food and activity are at the heart of everything they do.

From growing vegetables and cooking with them to yoga breaks and forest school, this school’s students learn how to fuel their bodies, calm their minds and connect with their community – all while having a brilliant time.

The Joe Wicks’ Food for Fitness Award recognises people and places that go above and beyond to make food and physical activity a joyful, essential part of school life. And Clare Robinson has done exactly that.

In just four years at the helm, Clare has created a school environment where wellbeing comes first. Kids enjoy OPAL play (Outdoor Play and Learning) – that includes long lunchbreaks full of creativity and adventure, and lessons that feature movement breaks and mindful yoga. Every class learns about health, nature and teamwork, with help from a dedicated PE teacher and Forest School Lead.

In the school’s thriving allotment, children grow vegetables, harvest them, and help turn them into tasty lunches thanks to Aneta, the in-house chef. Some of the produce even gets sold to parents, helping to fund new tools and seeds.

From pastoral care to movement-friendly classrooms, the whole team works together to help every child thrive. This is what good food and movement looks like!

WHAT THE CELEB JUDGES THOUGHT…

“This is what Food for Fitness is all about. They’re helping kids eat well, move more, and feel great. It’s fun, it’s community-led, and it’s brilliant. Well done Clare and all at St John the Baptist Church of England Primary School.” Joe Wicks

“This isn’t just about getting active. It’s about building confidence, resilience, and healthy habits for life. What’s happening at St John the Baptist is next level. Clare’s made movement and nutrition fun and empowering for every single child. Proper Gladiator energy!” Gladiator Zack George.

Huge thanks to our partners Tefal and technology partners Wonde for making the awards possible.
