Ministry of Food

The Workplace Programme

Our work both in the community and at the Jamie Oliver Cookery School demonstrates the real appetite for food classes. By offering engaging bespoke courses in the workplace, we are able to inspire and empower even more people to cook great food from scratch, while they have a great time.

Learn To Cook

Learn To Cook is a bespoke accredited course, designed by Jamie Oliver, to teach you how to cook in just 12 hours in the workplace. By completing it, employees gain a comprehensive understanding of nutrition principles, which promotes daily healthy eating habits and equips them with the knowledge and skills to make informed dietary choices. Each of the sessions (8 x 90-minute lessons) can be delivered over any number of weeks and is designed to fully teach your employees to cook quick and nutritious meals.

The course can be delivered in-person, in-house or online by our brilliant Jamie Oliver Cookery School chefs. If you’re interested in having this course in your workplace and would like to find out more, please get in touch.

Why choose Learn To Cook?

The 24-month pilot with Google demonstrates the success of the course, as they have renewed for a further three years. The course is often oversubscribed, with 217 people on the waiting list. Here’s a snapshot of the evaluation from Google...

  • 96% said the course had a positive impact on their workplace satisfaction
  • 94% of participants said they met a new colleague through the course

"I lacked confidence in the kitchen before taking the classes and even the simplest recipe seemed pretty daunting. So learning basic skills, like chopping, has really helped me to prepare meals at home."

"I have found the classes incredibly helpful in my everyday life – from feeling more confident in the kitchen to helping my work-life balance and meeting other colleagues."
