Inspired by a fantastic German Christmas cake, but also embracing the old-school chocolate orange Jaffa Cakes that we enjoyed as kids, this is a really fun, satisfying cake to put together – there’s real comfort in the making here.
Recipe From
225g unsalted butter
(at room temperature), plus extra for greasing
300g golden marzipan
100ml single cream
225g golden caster sugar
10 large free-range eggs
½ tablespoon vanilla bean paste
1 orange
150g self-raising flour
100g cornflour
150g quality rindless bitter orange marmalade
25ml whisky
300g quality dark chocolate (70%), plus extra to serve
40g candied orange peel
