Making the most of your... Flavour paste

May 9, 2025

We know, life can be hectic. And the trouble with that is sometimes it can seem like there just isn’t time to make something delicious and nutritious from scratch. And that is exactly where a flavour paste will come to your rescue!

For those who want big-flavour food on the table and fast, Jamie has created a new range of cooking pastes that flavour lifesavers. We’ve done all the hard work of prepping the onion, garlic, carrots, herbs and spices, so all you need to do is add some chicken/mince/beans, and you’ll have a stunning dish on the table before you know it. They’re just a brilliant shortcut to great-tasting dishes. Peel the label and find the easy-to-follow recipe inside.

But did you know that you can do even more with this big-flavour paste? Check out our tasty ideas…

Bonus recipe: For a sausage & cannellini bean stew for 4

  1. Place a shallow pan with a splash of oil on a high heat. Add 500g sausages (meat or veggie) and fry for around 10 minutes, or until golden.
  2. Stir through 1 jar of Jamie Oliver Deep Dark Stew paste (¼ jar per person) and cook for 1 minute more.
  3. Stir in 200g chopped tomatoes, 1 x 400g tin cannellini beans (drained), 200g chopped mixed veg (we suggest red and/or yellow peppers and a courgette) and 300ml water, and bring to the boil.
  4. Cover and turn down the heat to medium, and simmer gently for 40 minutes, or until the sausages are tender and the sauce has thickened.
  5. Serve with some kale or sprouting broccoli.
