Healthy green juice

April 30, 2014 • In Drinks, Healthy

Drinking veggies adds a couple of extra healthy servings to your diet, which is key even if you are eating salads and vegetable sides throughout the day.

You also can’t beat a good fruit smoothie. They’re a great way to get some extra good in you, and kids. Check out Jamie making smoothies with his son Buddy at home.

I make juice from all kinds of green vegetables, but I am drawn to the apparent healing properties of this combination of cucumbers and cilantro (coriander) in particular, and feel incredibly energised when I drink this juice. I often find myself guzzling it down just before dinner in a wine glass. There’s nothing like a green juice cocktail to stave off the witching hour!

When juicing I always use organic vegetables so I don’t increase my intake of pesticides in such a concentrated manner.

1 bunch cilantro (coriander to most people)

2 cucumbers

2 limes or lemons

1 piece ginger (about 1-inch, no need to peel)

Simply push cilantro, cucumbers, citrus, and ginger through a juicer and serve!
