About the recipe

If your kids are bored of the same old sandwich fillings, give this combo a try – it's fresh, crunchy and made in minutes!

Ingredients

1 small eating apple

1 x 50g tin of tuna in spring water, from sustainable sources

1 tablespoon natural yoghurt

¼ of a cucumber

1 wholegrain pitta

Top Tip

This may sound simple, but filling a sandwich or wrap right to the edges makes sure every single bite has the right amount of filling, and hopefully means less of those pesky crusts will get left behind.

Method

  1. Coarsely grate the apple, discarding the stalk and core, then place in a bowl.
  2. Drain and flake in the tuna.
  3. Add the yoghurt and a pinch of black pepper, then mix well.
  4. Slice the cucumber.
  5. Halve the pitta across the middle, stuff in the cucumber slices and tuna filling, then wrap up and pack into your lunch box or enjoy straight away.
