800g rhubarb
4 tbsp golden caster sugar (or to taste)
2 oranges
CUSTARD
500ml whole milk
500ml double cream
6 tbsp golden caster sugar
1 vanilla pod
8 egg yolks (3 whites reserved for the meringues)
MERINGUES
3 egg whites
150g caster sugar
1.5 litres semi-skimmed milk
This classic French meringue dessert is so easy to make, but utterly decadent and really impressive
