Some of you may be wondering about giving nuts to your baby so early. If so please bear the following in mind:
Potential allergens such as milk, wheat, nuts, seeds, eggs, fish and shellfish should be introduced to weaning babies carefully and not before 6 months. Initially give to your baby in small amounts and know the potentially allergic reactions to look out for. These include one or more of the following: diarrhoea or vomiting, a cough, wheezing or shortness of breath, an itchy skin or throat, a rash, swollen lips, swollen throat, runny or blocked nose, sore red and itchy eyes, breathing difficulties, a stomach upset or unusual skin reaction.
