About the recipe

Most of us have a jar of jam knocking about, so I’ve put it to good use in this delicious, quick cocktail that will really kick off the weekend in style. I’ve used a berries and cherries jam here, but give it a go with the flavour you love the most.

Ingredients

1 lime

1 tablespoon jam, such as berries and cherries

25ml Cointreau

50ml quality blanco tequila

Top Tip

HELPFUL HACK:

If you roll the lime back and forth on the work surface a couple of times, you’ll get a lot more juice when you squeeze it.

Method

  1. Fill your glass with ice.
  2. Use a speed-peeler to slice off a long piece of the lime peel, then roll it up and drop into the glass.
  3. Cut the lime in half and squeeze both halves into a Boston shaker, jam jar or jug (you want about 25ml in total).
  4. Pour in the Cointreau and tequila, then add the jam and stir to loosen.
  5. Fill with ice, then shake hard for 30 seconds.
  6. Strain into your glass and enjoy!
