Homemade gluten-free crackers
Make these Super seed crackers by nutritionist and cook Jody Vassallo. She says if you love crackers, then these are your new favourites! These seed crackers contain chia seeds, which are high in protein, making them a great alternative to the pre-made ones you’ll find in the supermarket. Marry them up with your favourite dips. This recipe will serves 4-6.
Ingredients
½ cup flaxseeds
½ cup mixed pumpkin and sunflower seeds
½ cup sesame seeds
½ cup chia seeds
½ cup almond meal
250ml water
Method
- Preheat the oven to 160°C (320°F). Line a baking tray with baking paper.
- Put the flaxseeds, mixed seeds, sesame seeds, chia seeds and almond meal into a bowl and mix to combine.
- Add the water and stir until the mixture comes together. Spread the mixture over the tray (as thick or as thin as you wish). Bake for 40 minutes or until crisp, then cut the large seed cracker in half and turn to cook the other side. Bake for a further 15 minutes or until crisp and dry.
- Remove from the oven and allow to cool. Break into bite size pieces.
