Re: Whats For Supper?

Sorry Maree- I thought I'd posted it earlier. A Western Sandwich is what we Canadian's (I guess) call a "scrambled" egg sandwich.  You beat the eggs with cooked chopped bacon (or ham) & onion. Cook in a pan & put on toast. Usually served with some sort of potato chips (fries). Classic comfort food around here! smile

OK, thanks smile.

If there's a "Western", is there an "Eastern"? smile.

Re: Whats For Supper?

Got some lovely little fillets of witch sole from the fishmonger this morning, so we have that gently fried in butter and lemon juice with some saute potatoes and spinach.

It is pretty well known in the USA as well, basically a sandwich made out of a Western omelette,  aka Denver omelette. My father-in -law makes a mean western omelette, one of only two dishes he will admit to knowing how to cook.  lol
