Re: Whats For Supper?

A big juicy Porkie Chop, with a mixed leafy salad (mostly from the garden) baby plum toms, chopped apple, springy onions & whatever else I find in fridge/cupboard that looks interesting, simply dressed with oil & lemon....................& a chunk of warm, h/m bread (that's just finishing its proving time about now!)....with lashings of melty butter!

Strawberries & Cream for dessert...with the tiniest sprinkle of white pepper.

Re: Whats For Supper?

That looks very nice Maree.  I've been meaning to try making gluten-free wontons.

Pan-seared wild Copper River salmon fillet; white asparagus (MrP wants a cheese sauce with the asparagus) and field greens salad with balsamic vinaigrette; fresh strawberries.  I've never cooked white asparagus at home, but had a lot of it in Munich when it was in season.  They use lots of heavy sauces on it, but don't recall cheese being involved.

Thanks, MsP. I made them for the first time a couple of months ago. Fiddly but they were on my culinary bucket list. Just looked and there's quite a few GF versions on line but I can't vouch for them.

Re: Whats For Supper?

Easy very late dinner after work. Salmon and asparagus, basted with lemon infused OO, cooked in a grill pan. Accompanied by steamed baby potatoes and followed by a garden salad.

I removed the skin from the fish after the flesh was cooked and put it flesh side down in the pan to crispen.

Ate half of the fish. The remainder will be folded through pasta in a few days.

Re: Whats For Supper?

Last night was lemon sole with asparagus and Jersey Royal potatoes, followed by strawberries and cream.  Tonight will be roast leg of lamb with roast potatoes, broccoli and gravy, and stewed apple and home-made custard for pudding.
