Me too! You just know it's going to be tasty as soon as the roux starts coating everything and it all thickens up.

Re: Whats For Supper?

Well tonight I used the rest of the shrimp and some of my sichuan flower peppercorns to make sichuan peppercorn shrimp and rice.

It was spicy but not as spicy as I thought considering the only ingredients were green onions, garlic, jalapenos and ancho chili.

Re: Whats For Supper?

Last night we had lasagne with broccoli, and tonight we're having spiced morrocan-style meatballs in a spiced tomato sauce over rice with a salad on the side.

Re: Whats For Supper?

Slightly different this evening. The usual JO's barbequed black pork with a hassleback but my wife had precooked the pork in the oven in the marinade. When she served the pork, she put the cooked left over marinade in a dish as a sauce because she said it tasted "very nice". I'd forgotten that in preparing the marinade yesterday, I had emptied the tabasco sauce bottle into it because it was almost empty!

For the black pork I use JO's basic recipe with slight adjustments to suit my taste...
