jamie's lemon linguine
hi all,
ever since i view the lemon linguine, it has inspired me to whip it up as a vegetarian dish during my practical day at school..
the ingredients needed are simple and easy to get...
one of the ingredient says olive oil... can i subsitute it to vegetable oil or corn oil??
olive oil in some asians countries are preety expensive...
is there any other ingredients that would increase the protein content in the dish...
tofu maybe????
y'all,,thanx soo much.. ![]()

Re: jamie's lemon linguine
it will probably taste terrible with anything other than olive oil - and try to get an extra virgin olive oil (they taste better)
tinned tuna could increase protein

Well, yes, but the tuna will be in a vegetative state, so that might count. ![]()

Heehee
When I do lemon spaghetti/linguini I add asparagus tips, smoked salmon strips, crab meat or even tiny little shrimp. Not all together, obviously.

Re: jamie's lemon linguine
I havn't made this recipe yet but it looks good.. After looking at it i would think some nice Peas would work in it. If you eat some brown rice at a different meal that day it will even give you a complete complementary protein. Another Idea is adding toasted Pine nuts. I didn't realize this but i did a quick google and 100g pine nuts contain 31g protein, the highest of the nuts and seeds. Pistashios might also be nice .
If you add the peas and pine nuts you could really boost the protein content up and add some nice flavour too . Hope this helps.
