Semolina Help!
I have a cake recipe that calls for 1/3 cup of semolina, but I can't find any anywhere! I have ground rice in my cupboard, would this be ok as a substitute?

Semolina is coarsely ground durum wheat, a highly glutinous (hard) wheat. When other grains, such as rice or corn, are similarly ground, they are referred to as "semolina," i.e., "corn semolina" or "rice semolina."
NOT SURE IF THAT WOULD WORK

Thanks YoungMum, I had a feeling that might be the case.
I'll continue the hunt for semolina, don't want this recipe to turn out wrong, it's my husbands substitute for chocolate during Lent!

I would guess that the problemisone of naming.If you tell us which country you are in, I am sure someone willbe able to give the local name.
