What drinks do you like to make for parties?
I've made some Skittles Vodka for this saturday (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skittles_vodka), it's such a great drink for parties
I think next time i'll try the vodka watermelon from Jamies book ![]()

Jep that candy vodka is great. Made it a few times for christmas with polkagris - those candy canes you hang on the christmas tree ( http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bild:Candy_canes.jpg )
Another all time favorite party drink are hot shots aka bumble bee ![]()
Pour Galliano Liqueur into a shot glass, float warm espresso on top and top with a little whipped cream ![]()

Sounds similar to a 'slippery nipple' Baileys with Sambuka on top (or could be vice versa).
That candy cane stuff sounds nice ![]()

With the vodka watermelon, don't use too big a watermelon. Also use a bamboo skewer to put holes through the flesh from the opening so it soaks in evenly - having a massive hit of vodka in the centre isn't all that good.

Re: Fun drinks for parties!
Definitely, and make sure you start it well ahead, mine took a week! Also, use a flavoured vodka, one of the big brands makes a watermelon one. Much nicer than the plain kind.
PORN STAR MARTINI
10ml egg white
25ml lemon juice
25ml passionfruit syrup
2 shots vodka
Shake over ice, strain into a martini glass and serve with a shot of champagne on the side.
My favourite cocktail from my favourite cocktail bar. We were in there at some ridiculous hour of the early afternoon once, celebrating something or another (any excuse will do) and after several of these, plus copious begging (and it did help that I was 'seeing' the barman
) we got the recipe.

I heard that you could cut a watermelon, or part of it... put it through a blender or food processor, strain it and then mix it with vodka that has been in the freezer for several hours or 24 just to get extra cold... keep the watermelon juice in the fridge too to keep it really cold. I think the big thing in martinis is pomegrante these days... What brand of vodka do you use? We usually stick with Stoli's.
I like sangria, many recipies out there... but that's what I make. Is that too passe for you young folk, lol?

Re: Fun drinks for parties!
it may be a little weird for a fifteen y.o to post recipes for alcoholic drinks, but oh well
.... not all of them are tried and tested... most i just got out of my recipe book.... hehehehehe (im and angel, honest, the devil horns are only there to hold the halo up!!!)...
here's the recipe for sangria:
750mL dry red wine
30mL cointreau
30mL bacardi
3omL brandy
1/2 cup caster sugar
2 cinnamon sticks
1/2 medium orange (peeled, coarsley chopped)
1/2 medium lemon (peeled, coarsley chopped)
125g medium strawberries (chopped coarsley)
1 cup icecubes
Mix ingredients in large jug. stir til sugar dissolves
(and bcrain, to answer your question... i remember my nan got drunk on this a few weeks ago at a party
)
Mixed Berry punch (alcohlic free, lol..., but bery refreshing for a party on a hot day down on the beach)
1 tea bag
1 C boiling water
120g rasberries
150g blueberries
125g strawberries, halved
1/4 cup loosely packed mint leaves750 mL chilled sparkling apple cider
2 1/2 C chilled lemonade
Method:
1. Place tebag in boiling water, stand for 10 min. remove teabag, cool 10 min.
2. Using fork, crush rasberries in punch bowl, add strwaberries, mint and tea, stir to combine. refrigerate 1 hr. stir cider and lemonade into punch just before serving. sprinke with extra mint leaves.
(the boys like this one with bacardi in it aswell, but i don't do that coz im a good girl
)
Caipiroska
10mL citron vodka
20mL vodka
30mL cointreau
60mL cranberry juice
10mL lime juice
1 C ice cubes
Place ingredients in cocktail shaker. shake for 1 min then strain into cocktail glass. garnish with twist of lemon rind.
I have a heap more thanks to a recipe book for of party drinks (not all alcoholic)... and as i said, they aren't all tried and tested...
