Depends where you buy it, the age & provenance of the lamb, the time of year and also whether you buy it as part of a package like 1/2 or whole lamb.

Best to shop around.

Re: How much for shoulder of lamb ..

Although it's not much help given that I buy meat in australia but it cost me about $14 for a big shoulder of lamb. With Jamie's slow cooked shoulder of lamb recipe it feeds about 6 but could be pushed out to 8 or 10.

Re: How much for shoulder of lamb ..

I paid £4.80 for half a shoulder 2 weeks ago, went to a different butchers last week and they were doing it a whole shoulder for £4.99,  the first piece of meat was slightly better. I saw in Tesco they were doing half a shoulder for about £4.90

Re: How much for shoulder of lamb ..

I'm new here, so hi guys!

G.Boyd...u posted exactly the question that I was wondering!  I am thinking about doing Jamie's slow cooked shoulder of lamb this weekend.  I haven't cooked a lot of lamb in my time and had no idea how much a whole shoulder would cost.  Now I know, so thanks to you, Captain C and White Rabbit  smile

I thought the shoulder was pretty good value, half a shoulder was enough to feed me the wife and 2 children and it was super tasty. I am going to give the kebabs a try soon aswell.  yummy

Captain C - How long did you cook your half shoulder for?  Jamie's recipe is for a whole shoulder, which I'm thinking is a bit too much for 2 people!!!

Re: How much for shoulder of lamb ..

Hi
I got a pre-packed shoulder of lamb from Tesco cost me around £9 it was worth every penny,
Cooked for the 4 hrs as per the recipe and it fell apart, never tasted lamb so good, I got about 2 meals out of it plus sanwiches as well

Also tried the lamb kebabs yet another taste explosion smile  smile  smile
