Bread Oven

Hello,

I am seriously thinking about building a traditional bread oven on my patio and the design on Jamie At Home seems absolutely perfect for my garden - does anybody have, or come across, a design that I could use.

Thanks

welcome to the forum Steve Wright   smile

There have been a few threads about this..
I understand that Jamie Oliver got his outdoor oven from orchard ovens.

Re: Bread Oven

Thanks for the links, I looked at the sites and was delighted with what I saw, only problem is at the moment I don't really have the space to do something like this justice.

I continued to search and found a Cast Iron Mexican Pizza Oven for 198, it is a Chiminea, BBQ and Oven all rolled into one.

I doubt it is as good as a pucka clay oven but it is a 6th of the price (of the oven alone) and a great stop gap until I build a full clay oven structure.

It is my 40th Birthday present (sigh!) and I will let you know how I get on with it, I can't wait to start cooking on it!  First thing I am going to try is bread, I love home baked bread.

The company that do it are Cast Iron Chimineas UK at www.castironchimineas.co.uk

Re: Bread Oven

Adding to Steve's question, I'm also interested on that Jamie's oven model that looks like a planter. I looked up at Orchard and Forno Bravo but there's nothing like there. Could you please help me? Thanks in advance.

http://woodfiredpizza.org/construction/ … ction.html

above is another link to a site that tells you how to construct a pizza oven. I got this link from looking at the 'heatkit.com link that I had put  in my previous post.

If you are after an oven 'just like' Jamie Olivers then it might be an idea to contact Orchard Ovens direct as I understand that they supplied his oven.
I have looked again at their site and they do show quite a few ovens.
It seems likely to me that Jamie Oliver might have costomised his oven to suit his needs and his garden.
Orchard ovens are easy to find via a google link they are based in Preston in Lancashire and they have  have their own restaurant, training facility and showroom attached to our warehouse.
I hope that this is helpfull.

Or make your own traditional clay oven.  I have started a blog to show you how I built mine!

Re: Bread Oven

Update on this - Last summer I baked Pizza's and Bread in the oven. After a bit of experimentation got the temperature control etc right.

Absolutely great fun it is - lovely stuff.

Hi Steve,

I've just bought one of these ovens - very excited!

Any advice/tips you can share would be greatly appreciated (best fuel/cooking times/etc)

Many thanks in advance,

Paul

Re: Bread Oven

I completed mine last year, and have put up a site that details the construction of it along with materials clearly shown in a photo diary.8 If you want some ideas, goto -
