Re: soup without onion ?

No worries Dan, have you tried using the search engine?

I remember there being a few topics like this over the years I have been here..

I think Oliviascotland's husband is allergic too so she may be able to help. I will ask her when I see her online.

edited for spelling!

Re: soup without onion ?

Here are some interesting Spanish soup recipes, some I have tried, many contain no onions.  Must you omit all of the allium family from your diet?

Re: soup without onion ?

does this mean you are also unable to eat garlic, leeks, shallots and any other members of the onion family then ?

if you can eat leeks why not use them to replace the onions ?

Re: soup without onion ?

you could make a cream of brocoli soup?
just cook your brocoli, add some salt and pepper and blend with cream
you can do the same with neary any vegetable. And add anything to it, like crutons, frazzled bacon...etc

Re: soup without onion ?

Try this web search, which will turn up hundreds of soup recipes which don't use onions:-

http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=soup+-onion+recipe

The search term is:-

soup -onion recipe

The - (minus) means that it will not find pages containing the word following.
