right on sister! In the US we also were brought up listening to all that stuff, just not on the "top 40" stations. . . there were always the 'alternative', 'progressive' or 'underground' radio stations.

Guess that music was always in the house. My dad was a drummer in London when musicians like the who, clapton, and beck were playing as well.
Picked up playing guitar when I was about 5...and still to this day, I do not remember how I learnt to read music. I could read music better that my school books...
Have now married a man with possibly the worst music taste in the world.....he insists on playing celine dion and the bee gees on my treasured NAD system.

Hadleigh, you must know The Ship in Wardour Street?  Just about everyone who recorded in the many Soho studios left an autograph on the wall in there.  Bury OH and Celine under the patio; I moved 3000 miles to escape that stuff, albeit on a premonition.

Celine  puke

I'm not sure I am ready to move 3000 miles to escape {yet} wink  But I do agree - "lose" the CD - permanently!

Nov 19th...

UK - "Travellin' Light" Cliff Richard and the Shadows
US - "Mr Blue" The Fleetwoods
AUS - "Oh Yeah Uh Huh" Col Joyce and the Joy Boys

must now go and listen to the Aussie hit...

haven't posted anything for a wee while...new and improved - everything turns a lovely blue when I press the 'submit' button...

in case anyone is remotely interested in listening to these falling-asleep dirges...

and if our personalities are in any way affected by the tone of the music in vogue when we were born then it's no wonder I'm rather laid back...
