The credit crunch and the Celebrity Chef restraunt ....?

Hello!
Another very well known Celebrity Chef here in the UK has gone into administration having to buy back 2 of his group of restaurants a dn a shop back from the administrators to stay in business.  Also another VERY well known multi michelin starred Chef is delayed submitting company accounts (not for the first time) .... has the bubble burst or have these Chefs just been to ambitious?

I don't think he is. Even if the crunch killed his restaurants, he has too much revenue to have to go into administration this early into the recession.

Re: The credit crunch and the Celebrity Chef restraunt ....?

Anthony Worrell Thomson's restaurant business went pop on Friday.
He wouldn't out his house up as guarantee against an extended overdraft so bank pulled the plug. He has secured the future of 2 restaurants and a deli using personal money.
We went to our local Gastro oub last night, had a ladies night on (33% off food bill for any ladies) place was packed out ... this is Tuesday night in small village, all other pubs in village doing food were empty --- secret is to innovate to survive.
On a positive note JO is opening new Jamie's italians this year ....

And those sorts of places will be dead when the recession is over.
