I heard this quoted on the radio. Isn't it beautiful!
(I think the ruined house might be me!)
Although the wind
blows terribly here,
the moonlight also leaks
between the roof planks
of this ruined house.
Izumi Shikibu

Re: the neverending homemade haiku thread
even sheets on the line
candy in the august heat
melting then with our dreams
in the night's breeze
just the time to hang the washing and it's ready to to be used .............. I do not like ironing ![]()

O yes, I love to shake the clothes and hang them carefully to let gravity and a breeze do the ironing!
On your hot night they would even smell as if they had been ironed. ![]()

Re: the neverending homemade haiku thread
a little too long for being a haiku but ..........
humbly kneading on the ground
to feel the earth breathe
and by changing breeze direction
exactly know
when it’s time to go
while leaves colors tell you
what to seed next

Lovely Mada, a true gardeners haiku!
A facebook person I follow often puts up a haiku, this was her post yesterday:
A haiku by Basho:
Lady butterfly
perfumes her wings
by floating
over the orchid.

Jekka on twitter
Gosh, there's enough blue sky for a pair of Sailor's trousers. Dashing outside to gather cuttings for a spot of propagation. #indiansummer
there is a flow of poetry in this lively twitter post
