Help needed with down sizing please
Hi there,
I use Jamie's traditional christmas cake recipe every year and get great results. The only problem is that it is such a large cake for just the two of us. The recipe uses a 23cm/9'' round tin and I would like to use a 20cm round tin this year. How do I go about adjusting the quantities?
Sorry if it seem like a silly question!
Many thanks :-)

Re: Help needed with down sizing please
welcome to the forum amy_wells
This is quite a difficult one as its not just as easy as cutting the recipe in two.
I have a chart that I have used for years that gives the different amounts for the different sizes of traditional Christmas / wedding cake.
The recipe is for a good fruit cake that is fairly moist in consistancy.
I know that recently oe of my daughters copied it onto the computer as the old sheet that I used was pretty battered !
I know that its not the recipe that you use bu it wuld give you a god idea of how to go about reducing the equivelemt ingredients to an amount that would work.
Please message me your email address and I will send you a copy.( check my profile by clicking on my user name ) ![]()
